Position Summary
The Event Management Coordinator will support the Event Management team in delivering best-in-class planning, communications, and execution for major NBA events. This role is responsible for tracking and organizing master event schedules, key contact lists, and ancillary venue availability, managing internal communications, developing professional documentation and presentations, and supporting cross-organizational coordination. The position will work closely with the GM, Marquee Events on NBA All-Star 2027, NBA Finals, the 2026 NBA Cup and early planning for NBA All-Star 2028.

Major Responsibilities:

Communications & Project Management

  • Develop clear, concise, and professional documents, presentations, and communication materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Track and maintain comprehensive documentation of all NBA All-Star 2027 and NBA Cup events, including requests, schedules, and milestone deliverables.
  • Support cross-departmental coordination by preparing meeting materials, drafting summaries, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Assist with master schedules and project tracking tools to support long range planning for All-Star 2028 and beyond.
  • Administrative support for Event Management team across logistics (i.e., credentialing, travel, event registration, invoice processing and contract administration).

Event Execution

  • Coordinate logistics for site visits, in market walk-throughs and planning meetings for multiple marquee events.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for site visit scheduling, preparation, and onsite support.
  • Provide onsite event support across a range of operational needs, demonstrating reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to adapt quickly to event environments.
  • Assist with additional assignments in support of the Event Management team including NBA Finals, NBA Cup, All-Star 2027, and future All-Star planning as directed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and demonstrated reliability.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Hospitality, sports, or event management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required; experience building polished presentation decks strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working on large-scale events, sporting events, or multi-day programs with complex operations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet, Asana) or similar tracking systems.
  • Strong writing skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail including excellent command of grammar and spelling.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive ready summaries, memos, or presentations.
  • Comfort working in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments—especially during event weeks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly and make decisions with limited information.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional meetings, including scheduling, agenda creation, and follow-up tracking.
  • Working knowledge of venue operations, hospitality workflows, or VIP guest servicing.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work extended hours during event periods.

Educational Background Required

  • Undergraduate Degree: Business, Event Management, Marketing or Communications preferred.
  • Previous work experience in fast paced business environment.

Salary Range:

$30/hourly
